My Grandpa restored one of those. It's at about 95% in my opinion (I'm sure he'd tell you 80%).

Sorry, SR20, but I've been meaning to get some photos because it's badass.

That's awesome. At some point in my life I wanna get a sports car from this era, I just really love them

They aren't without their problems. First off, they're made of freaking wood for crying out loud. Also, MG in particular apparently didn't have much in the way of sense when determining good gear ratios in the MG (My grandpa is pretty sure that, if he could get the front bumper to clear, he could climb a tree in first gear). That said, they are attractive cars.

The only other issue with them (today) is that parts are simply not readily available for them. My grandfather is a very, very smart guy with cars though, so he manages to avoid some of the issues (i.e. the car, as he got it, had a pretty busted up tranny. While I personally would have bought another one, he told me that the MG TD trannys are simply unavailable. He had the thing out of the car, disassembled, reassembled, and back in the car about 8 times before he got it right).
